Strings Attached was an installation about attachment and loss. Eighteen abstracted animals were created to correspond to specific individuals graduating from college the next day. They were installed a short distance away from the individuals homes in the middle of the night. Each piece had a different color string that attached it to the recipient's doorknob such that the recipients were able to follow the string from their doorknobs all the way to their individual animals. The creator was initially left anonymous so that the recipients would momentarily view the gift as a tangible embodiment of their continued attachment despite eminent departure.
