Rooted in Shaker furniture traditions, this piece draws its proportions and structural clarity from historic storage forms. Each drawer is individually sized and positioned with no repeated profiles, creating a composition that appears chaotic while remaining carefully balanced for use. Hand-carved and hand-cast elements reference mathematical symbols, layering irregular texture over a rigorously ordered framework. The surface is ebonized using the wood’s natural tannins and finished with wax to reveal grain and depth, playing between natural and artificial-looking surfaces while remaining entirely natural in material and process.
